The Anglo Boer War is no longer taught in South African history classes anymore. This is the same erasure of history that the Chinese Communist Party has instituted regarding the Tiananmen Square uprising and subsequent massacre in 1989. That event has been completely erased from Chinese memory. The only difference is that the Boer War is acknowledged and used as a cudgel against whites and white history. If you watch the video of this woman Sisulu speaking about it, she intones that "every vestige of neo colonialism must be eradicated" [in South Africa]. They've certainly done that. South Africa has in a little less than thirty years regressed from a modern, thriving country to a Third World basket case, still dependent on white people in the form of foreign aid. That's irony on a historic scale.
