I grew up in Johannesburg. What a city and time it was. After my compulsory military service I moved to Hillbrow, the most cosmopolitan, eclectic and dynamic section of Johannesburg: combine the East and West Village of New York City with the South Bronx and that's Hillbrow. It was a glorious time of nightclubs, speakeasies, restaurants, biker gang, cafes, 24 hour supermarkets, European pubs and coffee houses. The place was vibrant, the streets safe and clean, the culmination of three centuries of white European innovation. Then in the 80s it started to change and deteriorate as black and mixed race people perniciously moved in. Hillbrow literally broke the back of Apartheid, which in of itself wasn't a bad thing, but the cost was the complete decimation in thirty years of what whites had spent three hundred building. Today, Hillbrow is a dark, apocalyptic and dangerous landscape. Think Mad Max or John Carpenter's Escape From New York.
Which is what the commies want for the U.S.--and are getting it in the metropolitan areas.

When I say that breaking the back of Apartheid wasn't a bad thing, I mean for the benefit of the whites. Under Apartheid blacks paid no income taxes, but enjoyed free education, subsidized housing, virtually free healthcare, no military draft, almost all employed and the best living standards in Africa, courtesy of white taxpayers who bankrolled this. Ironically, blacks in Africa are still dependent on white taxpayers in majority white America and Europe.
