See the Full-Length, Classic, Jean Negulesco-Nunnally Johnson Picture, Phone Call from a Stranger (1952), Starring Shelley Winters & Gary Merrill (with Bette Davis), for Free, Without Commercial Interruption, at WEJB/NSU

By A California Reader

@InBoccaChiusa

Phone Call from a Stranger is a 1952 American film noir drama film directed by Jean Negulesco from a screenplay by Nunnally Johnson, based on the 1950 novelette of the same name by I.A.R. Wylie. The film centers on the survivor of an aircraft crash who contacts the relatives of three of the victims he came to know on board the flight.

“The story employs flashbacks to relive the three characters’ pasts.

“At the 13th Venice International Film Festival, the film earned Negulesco a nomination for the Golden Lion, while Johnson was nominated for the Golden Osella for Best Original Screenplay.

“Merrill and Winters reprised their roles for a Lux Radio Theatre presentation of the story on January 5, 1953.

[Edited by N.S.]: At the time, Bette Davis was married to Gary Merrill. When Davis read the script, she suggested he ask director Negulesco if she could play the relatively small role of Marie Hoke, feeling “It would be a change of pace for me. I believed in the part more than its length. I have never understood why stars should object to playing smaller parts if they were good ones. Marie Hoke was such a part.”

“Bette Davis was a great actress and a true star."

N.S.: She was the greatest movie actress of them all.

Note, too, that this picture was scripted by Nunnally Johnson, one of the greatest screenwriters (The Grapes of Wrath (1940); The Woman in the Window (1944); The Gunfighter (1950); The Desert Fox (1951); How to Marry a Millionaire (1953); The Three Faces of Eve (1957); The Dirty Dozen (1967); etc.) of them all.

Just take a gander at the man’s credits—they’re breathtaking!

In a business of scriptwriting teams, Johnson typically flew solo. But what do I know? And Nunnally Johnson’s place on the Top 100 screenwriters list of the new york magazine kultural kommissars? Nowhere. According to the commissars, Johnson was a nothing, in contrast to geniuses like Spike Lee (#15).

Tesla model pi smartphone price, specifications and release date

model pi will work with neuralink: neuralink is Elon Musk's project that works on developing ultra-high-bandwidth-machine interfaces to link human brains to computers. reports claim that model pi will directly connect to the user's brain and work accordingly. model pi will mine cryptocurrency (mars coin): this smartphone will mine cryptocurrencies supposedly called mars coin.

It's another way for him to monetize his network of starlink, low-orbit satellites.

Sell bandwidth.

No need to worry about google and apple's app stores.

Now Musk would own the network of satellites, sell the handsets, and then sell bandwidth on his own satellites to owners of the phone.

Completely circumvent the incumbent players.

Stroke of genius, if true.

N.S.: I think it's all a bluff. Elon Musk is a gambler on the ride of his life.

"new york city to remove mentally ill people from streets against their will"

"mayor Eric Adams directed the police and emergency medical workers to hospitalize people they deemed too mentally ill to care for themselves, even if they posed no threat to others.
"in a speech on tuesday, mayor Eric Adams issued a directive telling city agencies to transport people with severe mental illness to hospitals.

Mayor Eric Adams, wearing a mask and a suit and tie.

nov. 29, 2022 Updated 9:10 p.m. ET
[<EM>new york times</EM>]

"acting to address 'a crisis we see all around us' toward the end of a year that has seen a string of high-profile crimes involving homeless people, mayor Eric Adams announced a major push on tuesday to remove people with severe, untreated mental illness from the city's streets and subways.

"Mr. Adams, who has made clearing homeless encampments a priority since taking office in January, said the effort would require involuntarily hospitalizing people who were a danger to themselves, even if they posed no risk of harm to others, arguing the city had a "moral obligation" to help them.

"'the common misunderstanding persists that we cannot provide involuntary assistance unless the person is violent,' Mr. Adams said in an address at city hall. "'going forward, we will make every effort to assist those who are suffering from mental illness.'

"the mayor's announcement comes at a heated moment in the national debate [N.S.: What national debate?] about rising crime and the role of the police, especially in dealing with people who are already in fragile [?!] mental health. republicans, as well as tough-on-crime democrats like Mr. Adams [N.S: Are you kidding me?!], a former police captain, have argued that growing disorder calls for more aggressive measures. left-leaning advocates and officials who dominate new york politics say that deploying the police as auxiliary social workers may do more harm than good.

"other large cities have struggled with how to help homeless people, in particular those dealing with mental illness. In california, gov. Gavin Newsom recently signed a law that could force some homeless people with disorders like schizophrenia into treatment. many states have laws that allow for involuntary outpatient treatment, and Washington state allows people to be committed to hospitals if a judge finds that they pose a threat to themselves or others.

"officials in new york said the city would roll out training immediately to police officers, emergency medical services staff and other medical personnel to 'ensure compassionate care.' but the city's new directive on the policy acknowledges that 'case law does not provide extensive guidance regarding removals for mental health evaluations based on short interactions in the field.'
"the policy immediately raised questions about who, exactly, would be swept up in it, and some advocates for people with mental illness warned it could face legal challenges.

"existing state laws allow both the police and medical workers to authorize involuntary hospitalization of people whose behavior poses a threat of 'serious harm' to themselves or others. Brendan McGuire, chief counsel to the mayor, said on Tuesday that workers would assess people in public spaces 'case by case' to see whether they were able to provide basic needs such as food, shelter and health care for themselves.

"the city directive states that 'unawareness or delusional misapprehension of surroundings' or 'delusional misapprehension of physical condition or health' could be grounds for hospitalization.

"the effort will also involve an increase in the use of Kendra's law, which lets courts mandate outpatient treatment for those who are a danger to themselves or others and which was expanded by albany lawmakers in april.

"frequently, homeless people with severe mental illness are brought to hospitals, only to be discharged a few days later when their conditions improve slightly. Mr. Adams said the city would direct hospitals to keep those patients until they are stable and discharge them only when there is a workable plan in place to connect them to ongoing care.
"hospitals often cite a shortage of psychiatric beds as the reason for discharging patients, but the mayor said that the city would make sure there were enough beds for people who were removed from the street. he noted that gov. Kathy Hochul had agreed to add 50 new psychiatric beds. 'We are going to find a bed for everyone,' Mr. Adams said
[N.S.: That won't be enough, but as black supremacists like to say, "It's a start."]

"the number of homeless people with severe mental illness who do not live in shelters is, at the very least, in the hundreds. according to the coalition for the homeless, an advocacy group, studies have shown that a large majority of unsheltered new yorkers have mental illness or other severe health problems. about 3,400 people were living in streets and subways in january, according to an annual estimate that is often criticized as an undercount.

"since the pandemic, a series of random attacks in the streets and subways has left many new yorkers feeling that the city has become more unpredictable and dangerous.
"crime has increased sharply in the subways this year, and the mayor said last month, 'when you do an analysis of the subway crimes, you are seeing that it's being driven by people with mental health issues.'"

"in january, days after the mayor took office, a woman was pushed to her death in front of a subway train by a man who had schizophrenia and who had cycled in and out of the city's hospitals, jails and streets for decades. the man, Martial Simon, became an emblem of a broken system and prompted hearings by the state's attorney general and a scramble across the city's public health and emergency response systems to tackle a problem that has seemed intractable.

mr. Adams on tuesday emphasized the importance of hospitalizing and treating people with severe mental illness even if they are not threatening anyone.

"'the man standing all day on the street across from the building he was evicted from 25 years ago waiting to be let in; the shadow boxer on the street corner in midtown, mumbling to himself as he jabs at an invisible adversary; the unresponsive man unable to get off the train at the end of the line without assistance from our mobile crisis team: these new yorkers and hundreds of others like them are in urgent need of treatment and often refuse it when offered,' the mayor said."

"while much of the mayor's plan involves making heavier use of laws already in place, he said the city also needed albany to address 'longstanding gaps in our state mental health law.'

"the city would like the state to require hospitals to coordinate on discharge planning with providers in the community and to consider someone's history, not just their current state, in making admission decisions; to let social workers and other non-doctors evaluate patients for Kendra's law orders; and to broaden the standard for involuntary hospitalization. gov. Hochul, in a statement, said the mayor's plan would build on work the state and city were already doing.

"mr. Adams has received criticism from some progressive members of his party for clearing homeless encampments and for continuing to push for changes to bail reform that would make it easier to keep people in jail. the mayor has defended his focus on public safety and has argued that many new yorkers do not feel safe, particularly in black and latino neighborhoods.

[N.S.: As opposed to new yorkers in White neighborhoods, who count for nothing.]

"mr. Adams held an event at a subway station on monday to thank police officers who helped a homeless man who fell on to the tracks, an episode that he said 'highlights why we have been focused on removing homelessness off our subway system.' He added: 'The subway system is not a place for people who need medical and psychiatric assistance.'

"earlier this month, the city's public advocate, Jumaane Williams, released a report criticizing the mayor's efforts to help new yorkers with serious mental illness, saying that some programs for them had shrunk and that mr. Adams had been over-reliant on police.

[N.S.: "Shrunk"? That's impossible. We just spent $2 billion on mental heath services for psychos.]

"on tuesday, mr. Williams, along with several public-defender organizations, including the legal aid society, praised the mayor for bringing attention to the issue.

"'still,' Mr. Williams said, 'the mayor's announcement leaves many details unspecified, questions unanswered, and the administration must provide more information on the intentions, implementation, and non-police investment in its plan.'

"several advocates for people with mental illness said that the mayor's plan went too far and would prove counterproductive.

"'the mayor talked about a 'trauma-informed approach,' but coercion is itself traumatic," said Harvey Rosenthal, chief executive of the new york association of psychiatric rehabilitation services and a longstanding critic of involuntary confinement.

"he said that the mayor's approach relied on 'the same failed system that's overburdened and can't address the people they already have now.'

"Norman Siegel, the former head of the new york civil liberties union and co-founder of a volunteer outreach program, the street homeless advocacy project, that has been endorsed by the mayor, said that the mayor's plan lacked legal authority. He predicted it would be challenged in court.

[N.S.: So what? Any positive policy is bound to "be challenged in court."]

"'just because someone smells, because they haven't had a shower for weeks, because they're mumbling, because their clothes are disheveled, that doesn't mean they're a danger to themselves or others,' Mr. Siegel said. 'and they're going to have the cops, of all people, make those decisions?'

"the brooklyn center for independence of the disabled, an advocacy group, said that involuntary hospitalization constituted 'discrimination under the Americans with Disabilities Act.'

"mr. Adams warned that the new policy would take time to implement. 'nobody should think decades of dysfunction can be changed overnight,' he said.

[N.S.: How come neither Adams nor the msm raised the issue of McCray and de Blasio's massive thefts?]

city councilwoman Tiffany Cabán said on twitter on tuesday that the mayor's plan was 'deeply problematic' and that consent was key in responding.

[N.S.: Whose "consent"? Tiffany Caban is the character who defended the psycho who beat a woman so badly in the subway a few weeks ago that he almost blinded her in one eye.]

"'often the wrong responder & response is what creates a deadly situation, not the mental health crisis itself,' she said.

[N.S.: English translation: Sometimes the cops bring about an optimal result.]

Methinks that both Trump and Musk are working together on something.

But what?

Both know far, far more than they let on.  Musk has a treasure trove of inside Twitter documents.

Trump spoke elliptically of Governor Desantis as "Ron Desanctimonious."

Allegedly, Desantis had an affair with Emerald Robinson while the governor's wife was undergoing chemo for breast cancer.

Betcha shit blows wide open very, very soon regarding Hollywood, Madison Avenue, and Epstein.

Too bad my late Uncle (name deleted) is no longer with us.

He and his colleagues were old school.

He would have "disappeared" Kanye by now.

Have you noticed that all of the "conspiracy theories" are always proven to be true months after they were disclosed.

And how about this?

If this story gets memory-holed, then you know that someone was trying to get the president.

Absent protection he would have been completely exposed.

False flag?

congress set to put federal blessing on queer and interracial marriage

(npr) “the senate is set to vote tuesday on the respect for marriage act, which codifies federal protections for same-sex and interracial marriages.

“lawmakers are moving forward with the vote tuesday afternoon after securing essential republican support during a procedural vote on monday. with bipartisan support, the legislation is expected to clear the senate tuesday, then head back to the house where it is expected to be passed quickly and sent to the president's desk to be signed into law.

“the bill would require that all states recognize same-sex and interracial marriages performed in any other state. it does not require that states individually allow these marriages to be performed [?]. the measure also recognizes these marriages for consideration of federal benefits such as medicare and social security.”

GRA: Supposedly being done in the wake of the abortion overthrow by SCOTUS—with some fearing a federal rugpull of fag and coal-burner marriage (not that those perversions would disappear, they just would be overseen by the states).

Catherine Nixey - The Darkening Age (Video Interview)

Re-posted by N.S.

mar 23, 2020

"when it comes to the ancient world, what Catherine Nixey calls “the story of wicked, oppressing romans crushing the Christians of the empire who just wanted to be free and wanted to praise God” in this episode of The World in Time is a familiar one. unfortunately, “when you look at almost any element of that story, it’s nonsense.” In her book The Darkening Age: The Christian Destruction of the Classical World, she sets out to dismantle this well-trod foundational myth. Nixey spoke with Lapham’s quarterly about how ancient Christians did much to crush to the world they inhabited. "Lewis H. Lapham talks with Catherine Nixey, author of The Darkening Age: The Christian Destruction of the Classical World."

N.S.: About 100 years ago, Lewis H. Lapham edited Harper's monthly, in which he was proudest of occasionally publishing excerpts from speeches by Bush I, mocking his diction.

I coulda sworn I'd seen a picture years ago, in which the heavy runs into Lapham at the end and says, "Lewish Lapham? I thought you was dead. To which Lapham replied, "Not hardly," before blowing him away.

sign-language interpreter who was fired from the lion king, simply for being White, accepts out-of-court settlement; however, inferior, black supremacist affirmative action interpreters and their White allies openly keep up the racist hate against him!

By N.S.

First off, Keith Wann was not playing a black person, because (unless the story has been changed for the stage), there are no people in the lion king. The roles are all animals. But it wouldn’t matter if there were black characters, because directors have been stealing roles of White characters, and giving them to black actors for generations.

“‘Keith Wann, though an amazing asl performer, is not a black person and therefore should not be representing lion king,’ [White] Shelly Guy, the director of asl for the lion king, told [White] Lisa Carling, the director of the theatre development fund’s accessibility programs, in an email.

“Wann’s decision to take the case up in court was met with online backlash from the deaf community.

“‘you disgusted me, Randy Spann, host of the deaf talk show the real talk with Randy, said in video response to Wann’s lawsuit. ‘Enough is enough. Let black people get their opportunities to get a spotlight.’”

“In a viral TikTok video, [black supremacist, affirmative action] deaf performer Raven Sutton blasted Wann for his decision to sue the theatre group.

“‘this is not discrimination,’ Sutton signed on the video that amassed over 57,000 views. ‘Reverse racism is not a thing. [N.S.: Racist liar.] stop taking all the jobs when we have black interpreters that are the better fit. wipe your own White tears because we are not going to do it for you.”

Raven Sutton clearly supports the White Genocide Project.

Unfortunately, Keith Wann's career is now over. If he hadn't sued, it would have been over, because his persecutors would have pursued the strategy of blacklisting Whites, simply for being White. Now that he sued, they'll claim, among themselves, that it's retaliation for his "racist" lawsuit.

Michael Barone, One-Time “Great Election Analyst,” R.I.P.

By Nicholas Stix

Ten days ago, my sometimes colleague, Steve Sailer, discussed republican Michael Barone’s analysis of the 2022 mid-term elections.

Barone: “However, it also signaled a residual republican strength. republican house candidates had a hard time dislodging democrats in marginal districts. But relatively few were weighted down by highly publicized endorsements of Donald Trump’s backward-looking insistence that the 2020 presidential election was stolen; the few identified with that view ran significantly behind the many who didn’t.…

“In 2012, democrats’ popular vote edge owed much to heavy black turnout to reelect the first black president. But many of those votes came in overwhelmingly black districts and did nothing to elect democrats elsewhere.”

N.S.: But many of those votes came in overwhelmingly black districts, with more “votes” than voters, and did nothing to elect democrats elsewhere.

I fixed it for Big Steal-denier Barone, who is anything but a “great election analyst.”

Maybe, to be charitable, he was once great.

There are certain truths that are non-negotiable. Deny them, and you destroy your ability to honestly deal with anything related to the issue at hand.

I have stacks of books by education “experts” who either explicitly deny the very existence of “IQ” or “g,” or who act as if neither concept existed, and yet who talk about improving children’s school performance.

Likewise, I have stacks of books that promote the fakestats popularized by “America’s top cop,” Bill Bratton, which spread around the country through Bratton and his former aides.

And it only gets worse, both in the individual and the social sense. Every week, the msm get their dnc talking points, and declare yet another hoax to be simply a matter of “following the science,” or otherwise immune to questions: the George Floyd case, the Ahmaud Arbery case, covid, etc. Meanwhile, we must not raise issues that tptb are not raising: e.g., America's one-sided race war; the biggest bio-chemical warfare attack in world history; crt; sexual psychopaths exposing themselves to girls and women, when they aren't raping them, etc. And if you contradict the deep state talking points, point by point by point, you’re a “conspiracy theorist,” an “election-denier,” a “White supremacist,” etc.

Meanwhile, the self-styled “patriotic party,” the gop, surrenders every battle.

I suspect that Steve trims his sails on certain issues, because he’s trying to influence “conservative” new york times pundit Ross Douthat, the way he used to influence David Brooks at the same outlet, and Barone, now at the Washington examiner, and if he tells the truth about The Big Steal, Douthat, Barone, and other “conservatives” will cross him off their secret “must-read” lists, and no longer respond to his emails.

under black supremacist da Alvin Bragg and nation of islam mayor Eric Adams, affirmative action criminal “justice” rules

By N.S.

“nyc convictions plummet, downgraded charges surge under manhattan DA Bragg”

“‘The real question at this point is why do you have a DA’s office? What is the DA’s office there for? The guy is avowedly anti-punishment. He’s avowedly anti-responsibility. These numbers reflect that,’ said Eugene O’Donnell, a John Jay College of Criminal Justice professor and a former NYPD officer and prosecutor in Queens and Brooklyn.”

N.S.: “Some men just want to watch the world burn.”

black supremacist manhattan da Alvin Bragg is one such man. Our nation of islam mayor, Eric Adams, after 24 years of aiding and abetting black criminals and terrorizing good White cops on the nypd, and whom liberal post publisher Lachlan Murdoch heartily supported for mayor, is another such man.

You know, Lamer Odumb, in his own dim way, might actually have a point here....that damn Phoenix gorilla does remind me of the players:

https://www.breitbart.com/sports/2022/11/26/video-nba-champion-lamar-odom-thinks-phoenix-suns-gorilla-mascot-is-racist-they-slid-that-one-by-years/

Isn't he the guy that Kim K drove to almost od in a whorehouse? His nba career is over, and the Kartrashians no longer want his black ass, so playing the race card is all he's got left for attention. Kimmie should have pushed a little harder.
