They can make men's characters(like James Bond,Sherlock Holmes etc)female,tranny,black,midget heighted,mexican,muslim,Down's Syndrome,bald,old,young,obese--plus any other quality that would disqualify the actor from portraying the character accurately.
Changing the qualities of a character like Bond or Holmes--as described by the author--and rewriting them as being black--makes them a different character--period--and not Holmes or Bond anymore.
