blacks have repeatedly said,"blacks cannot be racist against Whites."If you tilt the whole shebang against Whitey and in favor of blacks, that's perfectly acceptable under black law."

So how did this obvious error in judgement by this entity occur?

Heads must roll and be shrunken.

The rationalization for this will be that blacks have been historically denied internships so this is compensation, or reparations. Of course nobody has gone back and tallied the number of blacks who have received internships vs. Whites to determine if the number has been at least 13%. Even if they were less represented this kind of discrimination toward Whites is open ended, they'll push to keep it going indefinitely even well beyond whatever break even point in which blacks have been theoretically compensated because Whites are guilty forever.

Everything for the colored. Everything for them. Hardly does any of it do any good anyhow.

If you thought the inevitable expiration of 92 yr. old George Soros would be the end of the Open Society (open "borders") Foundation and it's massive financing of alien invaders, leftist politicos and judiciary...think again! Soros Sr. is handing over the reigns of his 25 billion dollar empire to his 37 yr. old son Alex, who if anything, may even be more determined to use their vast wealth to destroy White America than his father is. https://www.scmp.com/news/world/united-states-canada/article/3223745/george-soros-hands-control-us25-billion-empire-son-alex
Alex Soros appears to be somewhat more moderate on some surface issues but then makes sure to affirm his commitment to his father's goals. Originally, it was thought Soros elder son Jonathan would take over the reigns of his empire but they reportedly had a falling out. Not that it mattered, everything I've read about Jonathan indicated he was as far left as his father and brother. Appears the evil apples don't fall far from the tree in the Soros clan.

I don't have a problem with this specifically. The problem is that if a similar program for Whites was proposed, it would probably meet opposition. Because of the expected opposition it would probably not be proposed at all. So there is a double standard. That's the problem.

Also it appears the money to fund the fellowships is coming from a private foundation, not the state. The complaint about the fellowships is also coming from a private organization.

What are the legal implications of the fact the money is not coming from the state?

Cannot private citizens or a private organization choose to help specific individuals? It looks like the university is just where the students come from. It may not play any role other than helping to advertise the fellowships (?). If so, is that really wrong?

Presumably any black person studying library science can apply. Who selects those who get the fellowships?

It looks like this is connected to the city of Albany and its library:

https://ffapl.org/touhey-library-equity-fellowship/

"The Friends and Foundation of Albany Public Library are pleased to announce the Touhey Library Equity Fellowship, made possible thanks to a gift from the Carl E. Touhey Foundation. ...

The Touhey Library Equity Fellowship will be offered to two African American students enrolled at the University of Albany currently pursuing a Master of Science in Information Science at the College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity (CEHC)."

So there are only 2 kids who will benefit from this.

What does "library science" have to do with "Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity (CEHC)". That is strange.

It looks like Carl E. Touhey was a wealthy white businessman from Albany who died 10 years ago:

https://dailygazette.com/2013/08/26/0827_touhey/

You can apply to the foundation for grants:

https://www.facebook.com/CFGCR/posts/2679415085425929/

I could not find a website for the Carl E. Touhey Foundation. The question is who is running it today? Who decides which grants and projects to fund? If you search the name you see they are involved in a few other "equity" projects.

Did the initiative to create these "equity" fellowships for black students come from the foundation? From the university? From the city library?

Would be interesting to know the answer to these questions.

"Don't have anything to do with this SUNY."

You are *mostly* correct. The students who will get the fellowships come from there. The university may advertise the fellowships. They may play a role is selecting those who are given a fellowship. But the SUNY does not fund the fellowships. And those who get a fellowship will work at a city library.

It appears that people who comment here just react to headlines, they don't read or concern themselves with details.

"federal race-discrimination complaint over black-only internships"

The complaint may have been filed with federal government and be based on federal statutes, but it does not appear the federal government is otherwise involved in any way. Meaning it is not the federal government that is objecting to these fellowships for black students. Whether they should be involved or not is an open question. I think not.

It isn't just blacks who think it is fine to discriminate against Whites. I once had a conversation with a Korean about Korean businesses which only hire other Koreans. "What's wrong with that", he said. But if a White business only hired other Whites you can bet the other races--including Asians--would scream bloody murder. A place where you really see this kind of race discrimination is at Microsoft. Microsoft has virtually been turned over to Indians--including at the very top. A Chinese employee complained to me about how she was turned down for a job because she wasn't Indian. I have heard it is so bad at Microsoft that they not only prefer other Indians, but specifically hire Indians from the same area of India that they are from. There is a type of bird, cuckoos I believe, which lay their eggs in the nests of other birds. When the cuckoos hatch, they push the other baby birds out of the nest to die. Indians are the same way: once they get a foothold in a business they keep bringing in other Indians until a formerly American company is actually Indian.

"It isn't just blacks who think it is fine to discriminate against Whites."

This isn't about discrimination against Whites, per se. The problem is that it would be, in practice, impossible to have a fellowship just for Whites.

"But if a White business only hired other Whites you can bet the other races--including Asians--would scream bloody murder."

If this was the practice, and it was reported to the EEOC, then yes. If a Korean business hiring only Koreans was reported to the EEOC they may also be investigated. In fact it's likely.

""What's wrong with that", he said."

What is wrong with it? There is a longstanding debate about freedom of association vs civil rights law.

"I have heard it is so bad at Microsoft that they not only prefer other Indians"

Once they reach a critical mass in any organization, to the point they have influence over hiring decisions, one does get that impression. Discrimination would be harder to prove in that scenario.

"A Chinese employee complained to me about how she was turned down for a job because she wasn't Indian."

That may have been a factor, or the deciding factor. Again it would be hard to prove discrimination since hiring decisions are largely subjective in the sense most people who apply are qualified in some sense. So a company hires the candidate they prefer. Personally I always found that how I hit it off with people I talked to was the most important thing about getting hired. After all, you have to work with and get along with everyone.

Diversity is bad in so many ways.
