America has been "geared up" for war since the end of WWII, which was the start of the Cold War. The National Security Act of 1947 set the country on the road to having a permanent wartime economy. Massive annual spending for "defense", whether at war or not. Ever-increasing power of the federal government. All of that was and is unprecedented in American history.
It is sad how Americans have accepted all of this.
You see now with Russia and China how the national security state is creating enemies out of rivals in order to justify its existence and budget.
Like I have said before. American young white man if you are considering joining the American military in whatever shape, manner or form, don't do it. Not worth your life.
