Chicago: Shooters Started Work Early This Week, Shooting Six Already on Wednesday

Posted by Nicholas Stix

When Deanese Williams-Harris, aka “neacynewslady” collaborated with Peter No Names Nickeas on the Chicago weekend shooter round-up, the report had much more information than Nickeas’ usual solo fare. I concluded that Williams-Harris showed promise. Her solo report below, however, could have carried Nickeas’ byline, and I wouldn’t have been any the wiser.

Did neacy’s editor remonstrate with her that she was guilty of informing the public, and order her to cease and desist? That’s the way of Trib editor Gerould W. Kern.

A man was killed and five other people were wounded in three shootings in Chicago late Wednesday and early Thursday, authorities said.

After hearing gunshots, police officers drove to the 3000 block of East 83rd Street and found a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head at about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.

Ingram Scott, of the 8200 block of South Coles Avenue, was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Another man, 39, was wounded in the leg and taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital in good condition, police said.

In another shooting, two people suffered graze wounds near Argyle Street and Broadway about 4:45 p.m., police said.

About an hour earlier a 38-year-old man was wounded in the nose in the South Chicago neighborhood on the South Side, police said.

The shooting happened shortly before 4 p.m. in the 8200 block of South Saginaw Avenue, police said. Preliminary reports said the man suffered a wound to his nose and was taken in fair condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Early Thursday, a 26-year-old man was shot in the left shoulder in an apparent drive-by shooting in the 800 block of North Fairfield Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, police said.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition was stabilized. No arrests had been made in the shooting.

This last Saturday Nawal Aysheh, a 20 yr old female Muslim, was shot in the head and killed in her home. The report in the media simply described it as "domestic related". Her own brother, Ibrahim Aysheh, has now been charged with involuntary manslaughter. His being a gang member was emphasized in the media report. I seriously wonder if this isn't really a so-called 'honor killing' with the media avoiding that angle.
