(cnn) Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer who was convicted in April on state murder charges for killing George Floyd, is scheduled to appear at a change of plea hearing Wednesday in the federal civil rights case against him, according to court documents.

R.C.: Yet another reason why I absolutely hate this [bleeping] country.
N.S.: I have different contributors who are increasingly sounding the same, but I completely understand it, because I'm also feeling the same way.

Perhaps he reached a plea deal that, everything considered, is favorable (e.g. a short sentence that runs concurrently), and so made a strategic decision to accept -- a conviction was pretty much a foregone conclusion.
Or if he is accepting a deal and pleading guilty, maybe he had no choice as he just cannot afford a lawyer for this federal case -- he's already appealing his state convictions, and he was denied a public defender for that (link):
Former Minneapolis police Officer Derek Chauvin was denied his request for a public defender by the Minnesota Supreme Court on Wednesday as he appeals his conviction and 22 1/2-year sentence for the murder of George Floyd. ...Chauvin said the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association’s legal defense fund paid for his legal fees during his trial but was no longer obligated after his conviction.
There is no lawyer that will take his case pro bono. Lots of lawyer will do so in instances of negro killers of cops, etc. And then there will be the civil suits too from the famblees of the negro who gave himself a drug overdose in Minneapolis.
YES indeed. Many good Americans seeing their country falling apart before their eyes aided and abetted by the government. Very sad yes. And for what? THEM. You know THEM.
They intend to see the police officer die in prison. It would not surprise me if they put him in the Super Max too or some other high security prison. Torture beyond mere punishment. All because what-was-his-name gave himself a drug overdose.
Anyone would have to be crazy to be a police officer these days--or else be one who stands by and watches crime happen to avoid being imprisoned when the next piece of trash dies from a drug overdose. The same is true of the military when the big shots are woke @ssholes--the good guys were thrown out by Obama and the lower ranks are screwed with killer shots. Once I had confidence that justice would ultimately prevail in this country. Now I fear that no one has the intelligence, the courage, and the integrity to set things right. We thought we would get three good Supreme Court Justices to fight for us, but instead we got Cave-in-all and little Miss virtue-signalling-Perfect who go along to get along. Our rock is the great Clarence Thomas, backed by Alito. Trump sounds good, but he is still touting the killer shots, he tolerated killer Fauci, and is utterly unable to pick a decent judge or administrator. If someone has any reason to hope for the future, please let us all know.
Only a Civil War can clean up this mess--and it would be as near to Armageddon as we would get--but we're headed to that point anyways. The only question is,what triggers Whites to fight back against the commie/blm'ers?How many rights need to be lost, how much money will we allow to be absconded to fund their climate change garbage, the replacement of Whites by lawless blacks/Mex and the destruction of our country through any means they feel necessary(including vaxxes)--before we take a stand(successful or not)?
Those are the questions.
