TCM's Film Noir of the Week Returns Saturday Night-Sunday Morning at Midnight and 10 am ET with Hugo Haas' Hit and Run (1957) with Hugo Haas, Cleo Moore, Vince Edwards.
Film Noir Guide: "A typical Haas mess: a half-hearted femme fatale (Moore), a jovial cuckold (Haas) and his ex-con twin brother (Haas again), a horny mechanic (Edwards) all involved in an inane murder plot."
"Throw in a sexy lion tamer and you have another turkey written, produced, and directed by (did I mention starring?) Hugo Haas. Worth viewing only for laughs."
"Vince Edwards went on to play the lead role in the TV series Ben Casey, and Cleo Moore, who starred in six other Haas films, retired and eventually ran for governor of Louisiana. She lost."
David In TN: I've never seen this one, not very good per Film Noir Guide. Eddie Muller is showing some little-known so-called noirs.
As a bonus before Hit and Run, TCM shows Double Indemnity (1944) at 8 pm ET and The Postman Always Rings Twice at 10 pm ET. It's a James M. Cain double feature.
