The only suspect photograph I could find was of south haven police department chief Natalie Thompson
By Grand Rapids Anonymous SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — There has been a shooting on the South Pier in South Haven, police sources say.
A news 8 camera over South Beach shows it happened around 2:20 p.m. Friday.
The camera video shows one person approach two others on the pier. One of the couple fell to the ground and did not move again.
[N.S.: Man, woman, black, hispanic, asian, old, young?]
The second member of the couple then fell to the ground. That person was later rushed away by emergency medical teams.
[N.S.: Ditto.]
After the second person fell, the first person walked around the pier for about another minute after before also falling to the ground.
[N.S.: “Fell.” And how did that happen, no less three times? Voodoo? Wet spots?]
The video shows that as the situation was unfolding, people fled the pier and some on the beach hid behind flood barriers.
south haven police department chief Natalie Thompson confirmed to news 8 that there is no longer an active threat. Michigan State Police, which is assisting South Haven PD, said the suspect is dead.
MSP added that no officers fired shots.
[N.S.: Translation: No officers did their job. Then how did the shooter also “fall” dead?]
Both piers and the South Beach parking lot is [sic] closed as police investigate. The North Beach is still open.
N.S.: No information, and no grammar, either.]
GRA: Thompson just had a presser and refused to say what the perp and vics “looked like.” A reporter asked the question that exact way and was given an evasive answer, “The one dead victim was covered and I didn’t look to see what he looked like.”
N.S.: Why not? That’s what a real cop, not to mention, police chief, would do.
GRA: The female chief said, “it appeared to be random—that the two parties did not know each other.”
On a pier, a hot sunny day—and for no reason—at least six shots are fired. Random?
I’ll keep you posted.
