Today (Tuesday) the presiding Judge delayed the trial of Colin McCraney for the 1999 murders of Tracie Hawlett and J.B. Beasley until 2023.

The reason is not enough jurors showed up for jury selection.

Someone on the Websleuths Forum, who claimed to be from Ozark, Alabama, said the “Community was sharply divided” and people were afraid to be on the jury.

Make of that what you will.

Valid point these days. There needs to be a witness protection program--except for jurors.Give them fake names as they show up the first day.Make them impossible to be tracked down by black groups.

Chauvin might not have gotten "Chauvinized" if juries didn't feel the heat from blm types.

Protect the jurors so they CAN be impartial, instead of fearing retribution for letting a White cop go free(as Chauvin should have been.)

Never going to protect the jurors identity so good they will never be known. Probably not possible.

Breaking News on the Tracie Hawlett-J.B. Beasley double rape-murder trial.

The trial is now scheduled for April 23, 2023. The Alabama Attorney General, Steve Marshall, will prosecute (https://www.wdhn.com/news/local-news/more-on-why-alabama-ag-is-taking-on-wirefrass-murder-case/) Colin McCraney for the 1999 murders of Tracie Hawlett and J.B. Beasley.

From the Dothan Eagle:

"Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall will prosecute the Ozark man charged with five counts of capital murder and one count first-degree rape in connection with the 1999 death of two Dothan teens."

"Marshall and Assistant Attorney General Jimmy Thomas will represent the state in the impending trial of Coley McCraney, who was been in Dale County Jail on o bond since his March 16, 2019 arrest."

"The new trial for McCraney is set to start April 17, 2023. Dale County Circuit Judge William Fillmore set the trial date last Wednesday, the same day he denied McCraney's request for bond."

David In TN: The defense team had claimed a "White cop did it." The witness they were going to use recanted the story at a hearing months ago. The defense is still claiming to have witnesses who will say somebody else did it. The defense has hinted the defendant's DNA got on J.B. Beasley "some other time." You know how that goes.
