GRA: There HAVE to be some parameters as to what a character is supposed to be—physically. Could Woody Allen be “Rooster Cogburn”? Could Oprah Winfrey play James T. Kirk? Of course, not. But the replacement of Whitey continues. I’ve never watched Doctor Who, though I’m aware of the number of actors who played the character. Still there’s no excuse for choosing a black to play a role that was originally a White Brit.

(usa today) Actor Ncuti Gatwa will play the role of The Doctor in the show Doctor Who, the bbc announced Sunday, in a historic casting selection that marks the first time a black person has been cast to star in the show’s central role full-time.

The 29-year-old Gatwa, best known for his work in the Netflix series Sex Education, is also among the youngest Doctors yet.

“There aren’t quite the words to describe how I'm feeling.”

Gatwa was born in Rwanda and raised in Scotland.

He becomes the 14th actor to be cast in the iconic role, following the departure of Jodie Whittaker, who was the first woman to play the role when she was cast in 2017.

In 2020, a black person played a variation of the Doctor role for the first time when Jo Martin was cast as the Fugitive Doctor.

MARIO BATELI--AFTER CAREER DAMAGED AND REPUTATION BESMIRCHED--CLEARED OF "INDECENT TOUCHING."

GRA:A bench trial cleared chef Mario Bateli of indecent touching, grabbing and rubbing in 2019.Charges were brought by a female who had wanted a picture with Bateli--during which, she claimed,he placed his hands in her private areas. The judge, however, ruled her story,"not believable. "

The subsequent fallout of the accusations cost Bateli a spot on his co-hosted cooking show,"The Chew",besmirched his reputation and forced him to separate from the restaurant business.

And now he's found not guilty--after three years of hell,I'm sure.It isn't right with these types of cases. What can Bateli do to erase the damage done and the stress of those three years, waiting for vindication?

Not much--and the killer of the whole thing is,the woman just walks away from an obvious scam--with zero punishment against her.
