Yes, I know of the case -- it got some coverage in alternative media at the time -- however even today, if you search the CNN website you will find no mention of this case.

Man who fatally shot UC Berkeley student Seth Smith sentenced to 25 years in prison

Tony Lorenzo Walker, the man convicted of fatally shooting UC Berkeley student Seth Smith in 2020, was sentenced to 25 years in prison Monday, as first reported by Berkeleyside and confirmed by CBS Sacramento. ... Walker pled no contest to plea deal (sic) when he appeared before a judge Monday. Walker will be eligible for parole in about 21 years, once 85% of his sentence is served.

Note the poor writing/editing in the above Daily Cal story; it's the campus/student newspaper -- also the following childish editorial:

Simple reliance on gun laws is not enough

That's right, it's not -- we would need fewer niggers.

Anyway, per the linked substack, he was allowed to plead no contest to manslaughter.

And per the following link, his family was not given the opportunity to approve, or even voice an opinion about, the plea deal before it was agreed:

That was a great piece of writing by the author at Substack.Whites have accepted murder by blacks,it appears.

The staff at U. of California had more sympathy for the Floyd boy than they did for the whitey student. Says a lot about the lefty communists of Berkeley.
