(Deadline) In delayed fast national results just released by Nielsen, the 93rd Academy Awards were watched by a mere 9.85 million, with a dismal rating of 1.9 among the 18-49 demographic.

That is an all-time low for Hollywood’s biggest night – by a huge margin.

In fact, it is a drop of over 58% in terms of audience from what the previous low of the 2020 Oscars snared on February 9 last year. In terms of the key demo, the 2021 Oscars is down a crushing 64.2% in the earlier ratings from the 2020 Oscars.

GRA: Previous numbers:

2014...43.7 million viewers
2015...37m
2016...34m
2017...28m
2018...24m
2019...24m
2020...23m
2021...9.7m

GRA: About 9.7 million more than it deserved.

I know this story has already been run but there was something in the video I missed. Check out the store name in the background, it's "Urban Decay": https://www.foxnews.com/us/miami-international-airport-fight

You can't make this stuff up.

BTW Followup news reports indicated that only one arrest resulted from the brawl. Seriously? That's why blacks specialize in gang assaults, they know most of them will get away with it.

NNN took the slant that,"Anthony Hopkins won an Oscar over heavily favored Boseman, but that Hopkins honored Boseman with a video"(though in the vid,Hopkins did not mention anything in the realm of being sorry Boseman didn't win, lol.Good for him.)

The Oscars used to have at least a veneer of authenticity. Not that subjectivity still played a big role on winning or losing but if a movie or an actor won the prize, they were at least pretty good. Nowadays, with blacks getting awards simply for being black, the veneer of authenticity has been ripped away and it's turning viewers off. The audience at least like to believe they were seeing something real but you can only push credibility so far sometimes and in the case of the Oscars, it's gone way too far. While we generally perceive when something is good or bad, what is best is much more difficult to determine but to somehow believe that Chadwick Boseman is, or was, even remotely as good an actor as Anthony Hopkins is absurd. So Hopkins got to be the token white to win and allow the Oscars to maintain a shred of credibility. Doesn't matter, I still won't be watching.
