ACORN = AHCOA, HUD Has been Illegally Giving It Millions in Tax Dollars, and Obama Seeks to Give It $15 Billion in Shovel-Ready, Illegal Graft

I hadn’t seen Matthew Vadum’s byline for a while. He’s a young guy whom I had come to recognize as one of the few Republican journalists worth reading. Well, now I know why he’d been out of sight. He was pounding away at a book-length investigative report on ACORN: Subversion Inc.: How Obama's ACORN Red Shirts are Still Terrorizing and Ripping Off American Taxpayers.

Obama's HUD execs deliver $730,000 to ACORN spinoffs
Another $15 billion proposed for Alinsky-inspired groups

The Obama administration has given ACORN spinoffs $729,849 so far this year and may hand out billions more in federal cash to these and other Saul Alinsky-inspired organizations, according to award-winning investigative journalist Matthew Vadum.

"Barack Obama is doing everything he can to enrich radical activist groups at the expense of the American people," said Vadum, author of the explosive new book Subversion Inc.: How Obama's ACORN Red Shirts are Still Terrorizing and Ripping Off American Taxpayers.

Vadum is a senior editor at Capital Research Center, a think tank that studies left-wing advocacy groups and their funders. His book is the product of nearly three years of research and hundreds of interviews.

Get "Subversion Inc." and read about the strategy that intends to take down America.

"These federal grant recipients are the same left-wing groups that will be going all-out next year in an effort to re-elect Obama," Vadum told WND. "They will be using American taxpayers' money to keep Obama in the White House."

Contrary to mainstream media reports, ACORN is very much alive, though it has changed its form. The shell corporation that ran the ACORN network filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy almost a year ago, but ACORN continues to operate.

As reported in Subversion Inc., ACORN officials openly acknowledge that the ACORN network is restructuring and is re-emerging in an effort to help re-elect President Obama in 2012.

And as WND previously reported, Obama's new economic stimulus package, the so-called "jobs bill," contains as much as $15 billion for left-wing groups such as ACORN, Obama's former employer. Obama has been using his presidential bully pulpit to demand that Republicans in Congress "pass this bill," even though there is no bill yet. Despite all the rhetoric, the proposed "American Jobs Act of 2011" apparently hasn't even been introduced in Congress.

But the plans call for a $15-billion stash to be earmarked for "Project Rebuild," which would subsidize states, local governments and what Obama’s proposal calls "qualified nonprofit organizations" to redevelop abandoned and foreclosed properties. ACORN has been in the real estate development business for decades and would apparently qualify for funding.

At Obama's Department of Housing and Urban Development, HUD Secretary and longtime ACORN ally Shaun Donovan has been showering ACORN with federal tax dollars. The grants have gone to Affordable Housing Centers of America Inc. (AHCOA), which is the new name for ACORN Housing.

Rampaging ACORN activists routinely break in and illegally occupy property already owned by others – and this activity is underwritten by taxpayers, according to Vadum's book.

HUD's grants to AHCOA this year are being handed out despite a congressional ban on funding ACORN. Although longtime ACORN loyalists remain in charge of AHCOA, HUD claims that AHCOA has no ties to the ACORN network.

HUD's most recent grant is dated Sept. 2. HUD gave $350,030 to AHCOA in Philadelphia for "housing counseling." The month before HUD gave $300,000 to AHCOA's head office in Chicago, also for housing counseling.

Although the government's USAspending.gov database identifies the $300,000 grant recipient as "Affordable Housing Corp. of America," its DUNS number (965998347) is registered to AHCOA. DUNS numbers enable nonprofit groups to apply for federal grants. Since 2003, the federal government's Office of Management and Budget, the OMB, has required federal grant applicants to obtain DUNS numbers. DUNS stands for Data Universal Numbering System.

HUD gave a $79,819 grant to AHCOA's Miama, Fla., office in March for a left-wing political agitation and indoctrination program known as the "Education and Outreach Initiative."

AHCOA in San Antonio, Texas, will receive an undisclosed percentage of a $619,696 federal grant from the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling (NFMC) program. NFMC is run by the congressionally funded nonprofit NeighborWorks.

When it was known as ACORN Housing, AHCOA was notorious for transferring funds to the most political branches of the ACORN network. From 2000 through 2007, ACORN Housing transferred more than $4 million to the American Institute for Social Justice, an ACORN affiliate that trained organizers in the brutal in-your-face tactics preached by "Rules for Radicals" author Saul Alinsky.

"Whether taxpayer funds will find their way into one of ACORN's 2012 voter drives remains an open question," Vadum told WND.

Although the ACORN network has taken in $79 million from the federal government over the years, AHCOA owes $162,813 in back taxes to the IRS, California, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington, the city of Philadelphia, and the California counties of Fresno and Santa Clara, he said.

You can bet that leftists will employ any means necessary, legal or not to ensure our Charlatan In Chief gets as close to re-election as possible which reminds me of a conversation I had a few days ago on another forum with a gentleman who told me of a story he had read a month or so ago claiming that recipients of welfare/EBT cards could use their cards upon swiping them to choose to donate to Obama's campaign. I was a bit dubious but he was sincerely adamant to it's truth so I gave him the benefit of doubt, after some searching he was able to find the link in his history but the page was no longer working when I clicked on it.
I tried to find some mention of it by googling every possible word that may relate but I couldn't find it. I'm very surprised that if it's true it slipped right by me, I'd love to know if any other readers have heard of this and can maybe supply a link to the story.

That one sounds a bit iffy. Not that the "Obamas" wouldn't love it.
