Raw: 1 killed, 2 injured in southwest Houston triple shooting

HOUSTON – Police are searching for a suspect after one man died and two others were injured in a shooting in southwest Houston early Saturday.

Police said Walter Hinton was holding a birthday party near the intersection of Truxillo and Ennis around 12:00 a.m. when a man identified as 60-year-old Robert Jones arrived with his dog.

Authorities said Jones’ dog bit at the suspect’s leg, barely nipping him.

Police said Hinton got extremely upset and began arguing with Jones. Hinton then
left the house and returned a short time later with a pistol.

Hinton confronted Jones and fired multiple shots. Three people were struck, including Jones. He died at the scene.

The two other victims were transported to Ben Taub, where one was treated and released. The other underwent surgery for non life-threatening injuries.

Police said Hinton fled the scene driving a white Chevrolet Impala.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crime Stopper at 713-222-TIPS.
