Reminded me of a more serious incident, the only details of which I could remember were a black 'teacher' stabbing an (almost certainly) white colleague 16 times with a screwdriver, after some 'disagreement' during a meeting, in a town just outside NYC.
(Keep in mind that this was an 'English teacher').
Such displays of uncontrolled violence most often occur when a 'colleague'- usually in a supervisorial position - but the wrong color (the victim here) - has just reprimanded a subordinate, in this case some unqualified, racist, AA 'teacher' with zero impulse control.
I recall reading this account in a more 'mainstream' newspaper - likely the Post - but as this happened over 10 yrs ago now, it was almost 'memory holed'. One remnant of the account could be found online.
She almost certainly didn't lose her job (you pretty much have to kill someone to be fired from a job as a 'teacher' in an urban school district like Poughkeepsie), or took early retirement, with a nice pension.
