When tv programming was mostly utterly innocuous and on occasion outstanding, the critics savaged it incessantly. When it became incrementally more and more offensive, little was said. Now that tv is an open sewer and an apparatus of the (Communist) state, where is the outrage?
Yes, Minow was one of the Bad Ones. The best gag about him was in a mock TV GUIDE listing cooked up for April Fool’s Day by Jay Ward (or, his writing staff): “VAST WASTELAND Fearless FCC chairman (Wally Cox) pledges to rid TV of violence. When the producer of THE UNTOUCHABLES refuses to cooperate, the chairman is forced to kill him.” -RM
