Dear Nicholas,
Project Veritas released the first video covering the trial between Project Veritas, Project Veritas Action (among others) and Democracy Partners today -- taking place in courtroom 29 at the E Barrett Prettyman federal courthouse. The trial is set to begin tomorrow.
During the 2016 presidential race, Project Veritas Action journalists gathered undercover footage over the course of six months as they exposed the dirty tricks orchestrated by political consultant, Bob Creamer, President of Democracy Partners, and its affiliates. Democracy Partners then brought this civil lawsuit against Veritas over five years ago.
Here are some of the highlights from today's video:
  • In the heart of Washington D.C., a showdown between Project Veritas Action and Democracy Partners is about to begin some 2,158 days after stunning undercover reports revealed questionable tactics by the Democratic Party in the 2016 election.
  • Bob Creamer alleges that the Veritas undercover journalist, who volunteered and was accepted as an unpaid intern at Democracy Partners, violated wiretap statutes and made fraudulent misrepresentations.
  • Veritas neither bugged Democracy Partners' phones, nor forced them to give any information. Creamer claims our journalist was legally required to keep Democracy Partners' misconduct private.
  • In this still ongoing litigation against Veritas over the past five years, Veritas has won a substantial victory when some claims made by Democracy Partners were dismissed on Summary Judgment.

Veritas and O'Toole does such good work. Lawfare as done against the project the best the bad guys can do but damage still is caused.
