GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (wood) — A man was arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting a female jogger in southeast Grand Rapids.

The Grand Rapids Police Department said the incident happened around 6 a.m. Thursday on Rowland Avenue SE near the intersection of East Paris Avenue SE and Burton Street SE.

The victim, a 25-year-old Grand Rapids woman, said she was jogging in the area when she was grabbed by a stranger, dragged into some woods and sexually assaulted. After the suspect ran away, the victim was able to call for help, according to GRPD.

Investigators were able to determine the suspect lived in the area. Sedekie Jabateh, 25, was arrested and taken to the Kent County jail, police said.

“The detectives and the road patrol officers did a really good job on following up on information that they had, ultimately identifying him as the suspect and making the arrest,” GRPD Sgt. Dan Adams told News 8 Tuesday, though he would not specify what evidence led police to Jabateh, saying that information would come out in court.

Jabateh was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, assault with intent to commit sexual penetration and lying to a peace officer during the investigation of a violent crime. If convicted, he faces life in prison.

GRA: If I’ve seen two black woman jogging in my lifetime, I’d be surprised.

Interesting quote about the rape: (via fox17 news)

“It is our experience that when discovered, these cases may not be the first ones,” said Sgt. Brendan Albert, commander of GRPD’s Family Services Team. “It is also our experience that victims of such trauma will, on occasion, delay in reporting these types of crimes. We understand how it can be extremely difficult to come forward. We are hoping that anyone who has knowledge about this offense, or similar offenses, will reach out to us.”

GRA: They smell a serial rapist—and by looking at his mugshot, I can see why—the nig is nuts.

“Sedekie Jabateh.”

He was arrested previously, in 2017 (for trespassing) – mugshot here – Sedekie Jabateh – Michigan

Also, re the possible Liberia connection:

2019 Quardu-Gboni Peace and Reconciliation Initiative in Lofa County, Liberia

The chief of Sarmodu town, Mr. Sedekie Jabateh said that peaceful dialogues should continue in order to have sustainable peace in the district.

Liberia has been independent since around the time California became a state (which, if it were a separate country would have the 5th largest economy in the world) – it was never a colony/colonized, and had no external wars – here’s what the CIA World Factbook says about the economy of Liberia:

Liberia is a low-income country that relies heavily on foreign assistance and remittances from the diaspora. It is richly endowed with water, mineral resources, forests, and a climate favorable to agriculture. Its principal exports are iron ore, rubber, diamonds, and gold. Palm oil and cocoa are emerging as new export products. The government has attempted to revive raw timber extraction and is encouraging oil exploration.

The country seems to have good economic potential, but the people living there have been unable to exploit it – there has been little foreign investment to date, no doubt in large part due to the low quality human capital available.

Liberia was supposed to be an oasis of freedom for freedmen who had been slaves in America. However, as my journalistic hero, George S. Schuyler, exposed to the world, they exercised their “freedom” by enslaving the local blacks!
