I have thought the Sultan of Brunei for a long time was the richest man in the world. Oil.
Sabu doesn't have that long and lean look as do most South Asians. Rather chubby in fact.
The sultan in 2008 was worth $20 billion. So I guess he is doing OK. Oil wealth. Accident of geography.
