David Cole is right on.
All too many whites have "drunk the kool-aid." In all fairness though, it was administered in large doses over many years; they have been virtually immersed in it. Been brainwashed that it is up to them and their generation to atone for the purported sins and crimes of their forebears across many prior generations and centuries. Been brainwashed that all other races and ethnicities are nothing more than historic and hapless victims and their own race alone perpetrators of the unspeakable.
I couldn't help but shake my head at all the young, earnest goodwhites dutifully carrying their "I Can't Breathe!" signs in those 2020 Saint George Floyd protests/riots.
I had a private discussion about slavery a week ago with my 16-year old white nephew (I specify "white" nephew because I have "non-white" nephews as well). Of course, the only slavery he'd ever heard of or knew anything about and felt ashamed of was that perpetrated upon black Africans by white Europeans and Americans. He was a bit taken aback by and even resistant to my attempts to broaden his perspective on the topic. He thought I was inappropriately trying to reduce the burden of guilt or "white man's burden" he has been taught that he needs to carry -- the weight of history as it were -- to atone for an evil past that he had no part in but has allegedly benefited from.
Incidentally, slavery is about the last subject I would ever have envisioned myself discussing with a nephew in the 21st century. Right up (or down) there with serfdom. It's like "back to the future."

You're not alone, the phenomenon was obvious/unmistakable; I found it troubling.
Kevin MacDonald wrote The Culture of Critique about the evolution of Jewish behavior and strategies for group survival and advancement -- something similar analyzing the seemingly unique self-destructive psychopathy of Whites is needed: what makes Whites so vulnerable to such emotional blackmail? -- why do they willingly/easily accede to accusations amounting to multi-generational collective guilt? -- I don't think the term 'pathological altruism' suffices to explain it.
I hope you straightened him out...lol.(Hell,I can't even straighten out my middle aged cousin,who's pro-Mex immigration,without a massive fight occurring.)

Tell your nephew about the Barbary slave trade where over a million Whites were taken to slavery in Africa, in contrast around 600,000 black Africans were taken to the American South as slaves. Tell him about the trans Saharan slave trade that last for around 1300 yrs. where Arab slavers took black slaves to the Middle East to serve as sex slaves in their harems and servants for labor. It was standard practice for Arab slavers to castrate black male slaves after capture. Millions of black men experienced that horror at the hands of Arabs.
Tell your nephew about the long history of slavery in Africa and the complicity of Africans with Arab and European slavers, selling their own people to line their pockets. Not to mention that slavery is still being practiced in Africa to this day, one of the last places on earth that still does.
White liberals are uncomfortable with this kind of history, they've been programmed to believe slavery only existed in the US and to dissent from that is tantamount to being racist but that's just a way of silencing anybody that challenges PC ideology.
It's hypocritical to the extreme because black racists and White libs love to accuse conservatives of "not being historically informed" or "not having perspective", but then they dishonestly focus in on one geographical region (the US) and a few centuries of history there while ignoring there is a global perspective and world history that goes back for millennia.
No nationality, race or ethnicity is innocent of bad behavior toward others. What matters is how you've progressed and Whites have been at the forefront of fighting slavery.
I'll add one sentence to your statement Jerry.

And "fighting slavery" has been a recent phenomena btw.When Whites were 90% of the population,blacks were on our radar only during riots.A much better time then--I was a kid--and as the song goes,"Those Were the Days".
