WASHINGTON — A Capitol Heights, Maryland, woman who ran a GoFundMe account for the family of a homicide victim and withheld money from it was arrested and charged with first-degree fraud Friday.

Police say Arlene Petty, 30, created a GoFundMe account to raise money for the family of Stephanie Goodloe, a D.C. church worker who was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend in June 2016.

The account ran from June 30, 2016, to March 29 of this year and was intended to provide financial support to Goodloe’s family, but Petty “intentionally withheld collected proceeds from the account,” the police said.

Bobby Whithorne, a GoFundMe spokesperson said that such “misuse” with their platform makes up less than one percent of all campaigns.

“We’ll work with the local law enforcement to ensure that family receives all of the money raised on their behalf,” said Whithorne.

Petty was found and arrested following a warrant from the D.C. Superior Court.

N.S.: The statement made by GoFundMe spokesperson Bobby Whithorne follows:

“Campaigns with misuse make up less than one tenth of one percent of all campaigns. With that said, there are instances where misuse occurs. It is important to remember that our platform is backed by the GoFundMe Guarantee, which means users are fully protected and we guarantee the money goes to right place. We’ll work with the local law enforcement to ensure the family receives all of the money raised on their behalf.”

“Less than one tenth of one percent” is a bald-faced lie. There have been many GoFundMe scandals, and as far as I can tell, the company takes no precautions against fraud.

More mass murder by negroes.
Two suspects pleaded not guilty Saturday in the brutal executions of two women and two children inside an upstate basement apartment just four days before Christmas.

Justin Mann, 24, and James White, 38, both of Schenectady, were arrested in their hometown late Friday for the quadruple homicide in nearby Troy.

Mann — who is free on parole — appeared to break down after a court appearance where both men were arraigned on one count of first-degree murder and four counts of second-degree murder.

“I don’t have to tell you what a good feeling it is to have these two in custody,” said Troy Police Chief John Tedesco. “It’s a great relief.”

No additional arrests were expected in the killings. Both accused killers were taken into custody without incident at Mann’s home, and each had a prior rap sheet, officials said.

All four victims were found with their hands and ankles bound and their throats cut, the Albany Times-Union reported. The killings occurred around 9 p.m. on Dec. 21.

Two knives were reportedly discovered in the apartment, and the quartet of victims were found lying close to one another.
