BLACKIE DISAPPEARS AFTER CHILD DIES IN HIS CARE--HOMICIDE CHARGES FILED
Battle Creek Enquirer
The death Saturday of 18-month old Dre'Quan Scott of Battle Creek is no longer considered suspicious, police said Tuesday.
Following an autopsy Sunday, "the preliminary results are ruling it a homicide," said Detective Sgt. Joel Case of the Battle Creek Police Department.
Calhoun County prosecutors were reviewing a request Tuesday afternoon from detectives for a warrant for charges of open murder and first-degree child abuse against Henry Lewis Jones, Jr., 18.
Jones is the boyfriend of the child's mother. She was at work when Jones took the unresponsive child to the home of her mother, who called 911 at 10:20 p.m. Jones then left.
"He has talked to some people but he has not been seen since," Case said Monday. Police have searched in Battle Creek and Kalamazoo, where he has family. Detectives are seeking tips on his possible location.
Police said the toddler was pronounced dead at 12:59 p.m. Saturday at Bronson Battle Creek and investigators believe Jones was the last adult to be with the child before taking him to boy's grandmother's home on Capital Avenue Northeast.

Jones already is facing charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and assault with a dangerous weapon following an alleged assault on the child's mother at her place of work in Bedford Township on Sept. 9.
The woman told police then that Jones was angry about a photograph on Facebook and came to her work place and they argued before he choked and pushed her to the floor.
He left and returned with some clean clothes for her and they argued again and she said he pointed a handgun at her and threatened her..
He posted a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary examination on Monday.
Jones also is facing a charge of animal cruelty after police were called June 29 to the home on North McKinley Avenue by a neighbor who said Jones was beating a dog with a stick. Jones denied using a stick on the dog.
GRA:He'll deny using a stick on the kid too.Not sure about the mother's race, since the deceased child's name is African--but she could be White--since Jones is light-skinned and would probably go for Whitey women.Maybe she's addicted to blacks.

Hope he gets the death penalty and is executed. And the immigration status is.
