SpyGate Revenge! Carter Page Sues Comey, McCabe, Strzok and Page

The Grind

Former 2016 Trump Campaign aide Carter Page has filed an eight-count complaint against the Department of Justice, the FBI, former FBI Director James Comey and others.

Filed in the DC District Court, Page seeks at least $75 million in damages over, amongst other things, obtaining four illegal Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants against him.

More via The Federalist's Margot Cleveland:

Page's 59-page complaint lists as defendants a veritable "Who's Who" of the SpyGate scandal, including former FBI Director James Comey, Assistant Director Andrew McCabe, and the disgraced team of Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.

The Details

Also singled out were Kevin Clinessmith, who earlier this year pleaded guilty to falsifying an email to hide Page's past service as a source to the CIA, and FBI Agents Joe Pientka, Stephen Somma, and Brian Auten, with additional defendants identified merely as John Doe 1 - 10 and Jane Doe 1 - 10.

The first four counts of his complaint allege claims under FISA, with one count seeking damages for each of the four FISA court orders the defendants obtained against Page. FISA provides a private right of action to allow "an aggrieved person... who has been subjected to an electronic surveillance or about whom information obtained by electronic surveillance of such person has been disclosed," to sue those responsible.

While Page's attorneys are filing a civil claim under FISA, the filing notes that the same act makes it a criminal offense to illegally "engage in electronic surveillance under color of law." Read more...

Gov. Cuomo Blasts NYPD Members Who Won't Enforce Onerous Thanksgiving Restrictions

The Grind

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) blasted members of the NYPD for refusing to enforce restrictions on indoor gatherings ahead of Thursday's Thanksgiving holiday.

Last week, Cuomo issued updated COVID-19-related restrictions - which included a 10-person limit on indoor gatherings - to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.

His latest remarks come on the heels of New York City Police Commissioner Dermot Shea's recent announcement that the NYPD has no plans to break up indoor gatherings despite the state limit being 10 people per home.

The Details

According to a Wednesday New York Post report, Cuomo blasted police for turning a blind eye to such gatherings, and for allegations that many officers themselves refuse to wear masks.

"A lot of police officers don't wear a mask," he said. "[W]ell, how are you then supposed to enforce other people wearing a mask when they see you not wearing a mask? 'I violate the law but you can't.' No! Nobody said you were above the law! I don't believe that person is a law enforcement officer. I don't want a law enforcement officer who says, 'I'm only enforcing the law that I like or think should be enforced.'" Read more...

That was somewhat surprising to me that the CIA/FBI took such an interest in Page. Page was a CIA man all along. If the agencies wanted to know what was going on they just needed to ASK the man?
