Africa would be the place she would suffer FGM, but as she is Indian, it would have been chancy for her to have been born at all, or survived infancy, especially if she were the 2nd or 3rd daughter born. Then when she got in the range of puberty she would risk being murdered by her own parents for not choosing the path they laid out for her in life (forced marriage to a much older man).
