Jonathan Turley on Criminalizing Free Speech
I have been commenting on the ongoing challenges to the presidential election. While I have not seen evidence of systemic voter fraud, there are hundreds of affidavits alleging localized fraud, including cases of deceased persons voting. The challenges should be heard and the evidence should be examined. However, the most worrisome response came out of… jonathanturley.org |
R.C.: Too many of my acquaintances fetishize the second amendment.
They need to obsess about the first.
That's why it is first.
And not second.
For without the first all else is lost.

Agree, but free speech should also include the truth, when media is expressing its First Amendment rights of free speech and a free press.By not reporting black crime or creating fiction about Trump, racism, coronavirus and immigration, they destroy the spirit of the amendment with lies and censorship.Libel and slander are not covered by the First Amendment,or is inciting fear or invoking crowds of blacks to riot.
I don't want to hear reporters tell me on a news show that,"Trump--without evidence--is claiming voter fraud."Or"Trump is pushing conspiracy theories."
Put a microphone in front of Dems and Republicans and let them talk--keep the reporters mouths shut.Yes,they have the right to say it--but not in the structure of a news show. They are set-up men for the story--NOT THE STORY.
Whatever happened to:"We report--you decide."
THAT'S the perfect philosophy for media to follow, but has apparently gone the way of the dodo bird.

The second defends the first. If Americans are disarmed anything can be done to them. A free people are an armed people. Every oppressed people are disarmed.
Push the envelope. See what you can get away with. Even for rather trivial matters.
