3 dead, 4 injured in New Mexico shooting at house party

In the summer of 1992, if memory serves, in my previous life as a social worker, I rested on a park bench in the projects in Harlem, after visiting a foster home. Three black ladies, two youngish, and one of a certain age, were talking about the day's news. In their building or a nearby one, there had been a murder or two the previous night.

You had to sign in with security if you didn't live there, but the killers "signed in under anonymous names," went upstairs, and blew away the person or persons they'd sought.

One of the youngish ladies said, "Here today, gone tomorrow," to which her peer nodded and "hmmed" in agreement. But the older lady, elegantly but not expensively dressed, countered, "Here today, gone today!"

That's more realistic than the "Blackish" crap that television CEOs
want to feed us about blacks.I'd WATCH the three black ladies(Florida and Thelma with friend Willona)in the ghetto--maybe call it--"HOOD TIMES".
In the first episode,JJ (Kevin Hart)beats an old white man with a brick because he hates "crackers".The Evans family decides to have 10 more kids to make up for JJ going to prison.
This would be REAL black TV.

Have you seen the ads for the new one? Mixtish? I think that's the title. I couldn't stomach Blackish or Fresh off the Boat the few times I attempted to watch, I don't think I'll be able to bring myself to watch the latest installment of white guilt masochistic race porn. If you can handle it GRA, I'm looking forward to your review.

Not a chance Jerry pdx,but if they come up with something worth watching--like "Hood Times"--I'll tune in for that...lol.
I hear episode two of "Hood Times" has Florida (Gabourey Sidibie) talking to her daughter Thelma (Bernadette Stanis Jr)about the facts of life--a little late because Thelma's expecting her 7th kid--in 6 years!
Meanwhile J.J. (Kevin Hart)has a meeting with guest star Lester Holt,as he tries to change the public's mind over the "brick thang."
Holt buys J.J.'s story that,"I was just playin'catch with the old cracka--with a brick--and he missed it--he couldn't handle my fastball,Lesta,"after which Holt calls up Oprah:"I think we have another movie to make, mein future president--innocent black man, blah blah blah."
"Ain't no such thing Lesta Holt and you knows it."
That's "Hood Times",coming soon to a fictional network near you.
