[“Neither Justice Nor Mercy for James Fields—and It's His Lawyers' Fault.”]
Two years ago today, the names Heather Heyer and James Alex Fields Jr. became part of American history, Heyer as a saint and Fields as a devil.
We know virtually nothing about Heyer, because her social media history, which was apparently quite busy, was completely scrubbed shortly after her death (though we know not by who), and the media and her supporters—and who wasn’t her supporter?—showed only very old pictures of her.
This is what it means to be a saint in America today. One must require, as with Martin Luther King Jr., that the public not have access to the facts of one’s life, and that, as with Trayvon Martin, that the public see photographs depicting a cute young person.
At the time of Trayvon Martin’s death, he was a scowling, gutter-mouthed, racist, thug. At the time of Heather Heyer’s death, she was 4’11 and weighed 330 lbs., in spite of being a smoker, which presumably kept her weight below what it otherwise would have been, and while only 32, was not cute.
In the racial fairy tale produced on Heyer’s behalf since her death, she was so righteous that she left her white boyfriend, when he said something uncharitable about the black lawyer she was working for.
Who knows if the white boyfriend even existed?
Also part of the now official beatific narrative, we are told that the black attorney hired Heyer as a paralegal, in spite of her being utterly unqualified, because she was a good listener, and that he told her he would teach her the job.
That story is supposed to impress us, but it cannot withstand scrutiny. What had Heyer previously been doing for a living? Why would an attorney in a city teeming with qualified, experienced paralegals, hire someone who was neither? It sounds like the attorney was not taking her on as a paralegal.
At the time of Heyer’s death, she and a mob of ultraviolent, armed, black anarchists had taken over a public street. One morbidly obese white woman in a mob of black thugs. There’s a term for that, a very ugly term, and yet Heather Heyer fit it to a “t”: “mudshark.”
Is that who we want to worship? Martin Luther King Jr., Trayvon Martin, Heather Heyer, and whoever else is on the list of the saints of the church of Evil?
And then there’s James Alex Fields Jr. We know very little about this young man.
Fields had worked as a security guard, and his mother raised him while wheelchair-bound.
In 1984, Fields’ Jewish paternal grandfather, Marvin Bloom, 42, murdered his ex-wife, Judy, 37, and committed suicide, both with a shotgun, in front of their teenaged daughter, Samantha.
(Oddly, Fields’ mother is always cited as “Samantha Bloom,” even though she appears to have married his father.)
Fields’ father, James Alex Fields Sr., died in 1996, following a car crash in a vehicle he’d ridden in with two “friends” who came out without a scratch, five months before Fields’ birth. The friends stood outside the wrecked car. When a passing motorist offered them help, they did not mention their severely injured friend inside the car, and had the motorist drop them off back at the bar they’d just left. The driver of the car Fields Sr. rode in was reportedly charged with murder, but I could not determined the disposition of the case.
James Alex Fields Jr. had the sort of childhood more commonly associated with a black career criminal,, and he grew up to be a disturbed man who abused his mother.
I write about Fields not to soften the image of a murderer, however, because Fields was no murderer.
We are told that as a schoolboy, Fields was already an open Hitlerite, although nobody reported him, and a school spokesman has suggested that Fields’ old teacher and classmates may have made up the stories.
“Boone County Schools spokeswoman Barbara Brady said school officials were not aware of any situation at Cooper High regarding Fields' behavior at the time of his enrollment.
“She also said that former Cooper teacher Derek Weimer never reached out to the administration about his concerns. Weimer had told The Enquirer there was a complaint filed by a teacher regarding an assignment Fields turned in that was ‘very much along the party lines of the neo-Nazi movement.’”
“Brady also called into question the trustworthiness of former Cooper students who had taken to social media to talk about Fields' behavior.
“‘How can you trust that information now if they didn’t do anything about it then?’ she asked via email.”
“Brady also said she wondered why students didn't report Fields' behavior at the time, adding, ‘Now they are crawling out of the woodwork to get their 15 seconds of fame to say they knew something back then.’” [“911 calls, records reveal tumultuous past for accused Charlottesville driver, family”

Whatever Fields’ school history may have been, we do know that by August 12, 2017, he was a neo-Nazi.
And as those controlling Heyer’s history scrub and fabricate as they may, and refuse to ask any questions about her, we know that she, too, was a genocidal racist.
They really do belong together, in the pages of history.
