hollywood murderer Robert Blake dead at 89; actor killed his scheming, whoring wife, and beat the rap (photos)

Bonny Lee Bakley would write to famous, rich men, and visit and sleep with them, in hopes she could rope them into marrying her. When she managed to pull off her marriage scam, she would then extort small fortunes out of them to be rid of her. With Robert Blake, she succeeded beyond her wildest dreams, or so she thought. She let him knock her up, and then made him marry her. However, as a character in a 1950s "B" movie said, speaking of Mickey Rooney's protagonist, "You never know how how those little guys are gonna react." Blake reacted by shooting Bakley to death.

I didn't watch Blake on "Baretta"(too young or busy),but when reruns of Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show" first appeared on "Antennae TV",many of the shows featured, were with Blake.

He WAS something of a mess, but entertaining,in a quirky way. and Carson liked his troubled persona.

89 is a lot longer than he would ever have thought he'd make it to,no doubt

"He WAS something of a mess,"

Child actors always end up as such.

Blake played the role of the little Mex kid selling lotto tickets in the "Treasure of Sierra Madre".

His acquittal was on a par with the OJ acquittal.

And YES, Bonnie Lee was no damned good.

It's a shame. I was so close to fixing him up with Jane Fonda.

Bonnie Lee KNEW Chubby Checker and Red Foxxx both. Bonnie Lee liked the dark meat.
