Hear Jack Lemmon Discuss the Seventh Greatest Director of All Time (Video)

Re-posted By N.S.

About two months ago, I said I couldn't decide who was the seventh-greatest director of all time. Grand Rapids Anonymous asked, "What about Billy Wilder?" I thought about it, and realized he was right! Thanks, GRA.

You know, something hit me watching this little clip--like a train, after being pushed off a subway platform by a negro.

These people, the actors from those days, were very likable folks.Lemmon,Mathau,Jimmy Stewart,John Wayne,Monroe,McLaine--most of them from the 30s through the 70s.Paul Newman,Nicholson,Dreyfuss, and finally Tom Hanks, probably the last likeable actor before films went robotic.

Marvel comic movies do not give actors a chance to show a personality the way older movies did.

I loved the "Odd Couple" movie(1968) and afterwards, wanted to see those two great actors in anything, the chemistry was so good.So in the 1990s,when they reteamed for "Grumpy Old Men" and "Out to Sea",I was like kid in a candy store.I took my mom and aunt and uncle to the theater and they enjoyed them too.

They don't make movies or actors like that anymore--great characters, personas and writing--and best of all:WHITE.
