Update, friday, february 10, 5:09 p.m.: The story is actually from the new york post, which blurred the video such that the attackers are not even racially identifiable, strongly implying that the attackers were black or hispanic. The daily mail then completely plagiarized the post story.

No,it was a fat black girl who started it--other blacks too..Someone posted a screenshot on heavy.com which read,"Why did the black ppl do that to her?White ppl will hate black ppl even more now."

I saw the video. It was a little hard to tell but the perp looked White, or very light brown.
