Very rural area.
Big house with big basement.
Owner might be older and hard of hearing or not able to move around quickly.
Might be a widower, too, meaning all alone and not aware of surroundings.
But the Democrat got shot, anyways.

The home sits on a large wooded property. There are no trespassing and "active shooter range" signs posted to a wooden fence. There is also a large banner that reads "birds aren't real," a theory that alleged the government killed all birds during the 20th Century and replaced them with surveillance drones.

Interesting they interview a white parent about the violence -- can't let on too directly who the violent kids are I guess.
Many parents and teachers believe the uptick in violence coincides with the Alexandria City Council’s decision last May to remove School Resource Officers and reallocate the $800,000 in funding to hire mental health professionals. The SROs were released in the beginning of the 2021 school term, yet, so far, no counselors have been hired. ...
The SROs are police officers, armed and in uniform, who are specifically trained to work in the schools with students.
So a school that out of necessity normally had armed, uniformed cops patrolling the halls and grounds.
As someone put it in a video clip I saw: 'White people, wake the fuck up! WAKE THE FUCK UP!'
