Vietnam the US’s closest ally in SE Asia? Military assistance to a Communist regime that was recently an enemy?

Along with Duterte doing an about-face, after threatening to end his country’s military pact with the U.S., it appears that SE Asian countries are moving closer to the U.S. as an ally against the aggression of Red China and the CCP:

There are all sorts of conflicting articles on this subject. There are ones that suggest SE Asian countries are moving closer to Red China and spurning the US, but who knows what is CCP propaganda or actual truth? I have no doubt that Red China is making trade deals, but that doesn’t mean SE Asian countries aren’t also deeply alarmed at China’s aggressive territorial moves in the region. You have to look at where money is going. If an Asian country is accepting money and military assistance from the U.S., that tells you more about who they are really aligned with, than some article on the internet, or what diplomats say publicly.

I have to ask, though, considering the escalating tension between Red China and its neighbors, along with the U.S., why do we still allow them to buy up massive amounts of land? They now own nearly 200,000 acres of farmland:

At least there does seem to be some effort in Washington to stop this, but is it enough?

With Bill Gates and the CCP in control of our food supply, what is the future of our country? How many Chinese and Mex workers will be imported to make the land profitable? With Gates desperate to rebuild his wealth, after forking over a significant portion to his ex-wife, I shudder to think of what lengths that [bleep] will go to accomplish that goal.
