John Derbyshire on Journalists Getting Cheated on Their Pay

By Nicholas Stix

I used to be very friendly with a Jamaican security guard named Linton, who worked at my old grad school, the CUNY Graduate Center.

Linton (born December, 1937), had worked in Jamaica as a bricklayer and a policeman during the 1950s and ‘60s. Even in his late fifties, he was still a broad-shouldered, narrow-hipped, who could have been a recruiting poster for the police. He told sadly of how he’d once had to give a fisherman a ticket for not having a working light on his bicycle. Since the fisherman didn’t have the fine money, Linton had to seize the man’s vehicle for earning his living, thus making him a pauper.

But Linton had to make his quota, just like here.

“Not gettin’ paid is grounds for killin,’” was one of Linton’s favorite sayings.

Once, when he was a young bricklayer, his boss cheated him on his pay. Didn’t pay him a sou. Linton went after the man with his trowel; he got paid.

I used to tell Linton that his position was too severe. A brutal beating, sure, but killing? I’m no longer so sure about that.

[Derb:] Item: In last week’s podcast I noted the passing of former Zambian leader Kenneth Kaunda. That prompted a listener to send in this Zambia-related item from the Daily Mail June 23rd. It’s a story, with a brief but heartbreaking video clip, of a Zambian TV news anchor, name of Kabinda Kalimina, interrupting his live news bulletin to complain that he and his colleagues hadn’t been paid. The station here is KBN.

[Clip:] Away from the news, ladies and gentlemen. We are human beings. We have to get paid. (Unintelligible) on KBN, we haven’t been paid. People are getting instruments on KBN. (Unintelligible names) and everybody else haven’t been paid, including myself. We have. To get. Paid.

John’s item reminded me, of course, of my own situation, with White nationalist leaders Peter Brimelow and Jared Taylor gleefully cheating me out of a few thousand dollars in pay, and with both in cahoots.

Agree--a reputation of keeping ones word is what separates civilized people from the apes(animal and human).

I used to have a good opinion of Brimelow and VDare, but it is despicable how Mr. Stix is being treated. As for Derbyshire not so much--he is proud of blathering on about things he knows nothing about--like when he proclaimed after the first 24 deaths in China, that the Wuhan Virus would be nothing. I could go on. I get the feeling that Brimelow never assimilated--look at the haircut--or rather lack of one--looks pretty English to me. Brimelow and Derby have their own little Brit club going--obviously Stix, an American, and a Jew, is not included. Maybe Brimelow is short of funds--after all every English lord needs his castle and Brimelow is apparently sinking more money into the castle he recently acquired--none left over for peasants doing the real work of VDare. I don't read VDare much anymore--I prefer Nicholas Stix, Uncensored.
