Bad News about Murderpedia

Juan Ignacio Blanco

By Nicholas Stix

Juan Ignacio Blanco, the proprietor of the most invaluable Website for the study of murder, Murderpedia, died of cancer in 2019.

I learned this through crime writer Debbie Burke.

According to Burke, some nameless enemies of Blanco called him “a greedy opportunist.”

Not bloody likely. No “greedy opportunist” donates thousands of hours of unpaid labor compiling murder cases.

When perusing Blanco’s Website, remember kids: Download everything you see! Some of the articles Blanco archived are no longer available online, or require paying for them, while others are unavailable at any price, e.g., The Crime Library, which TruTV “disappeared.”
