Article says: Among Mamdani’s announced policies are a substantial increase in the city income tax on “millionaires,” a multi-year rent freeze on rent-regulated apartments, having social workers instead of police respond to domestic violence calls, and having Benjamin Netanyahu arrested if he shows up in town.
It's not far-fetched to say that Boring Bannon more or less supports at least two out of Mamdani's Big Four. Bannon was against Medicaid cuts (back in the DOGE era, remember those days?) because "lots of MAGA is on Medicaid" and saying that having the top tax bracket at 37% needed to pay even more. So basically tax the rich to fund free health care for the poor, (which in Medicaid land means 19% of the population) And he seems to be anti-Israel, based on headlines. I stopped listening to War Room months ago. It was the cringey ads too, hawking overpriced junk. To the same poor MAGA people who are either getting Medicaid or paying for other people's Medicaid. Oh yes, you need to buy expensive medications, MRE meals, a satellite phone, a generator, give me a break. MAGA Media in general please take note. (Yes, I did buy a solar generator. 50% more capacity than the one Bannon's sponsor has listed, and $1000 cheaper. Seems to be top-notch quality.)
What are businesses thinking, moving into NYC office space? Besides 30%-40% federal taxes (ex. 22% income tax bracket, but some in the 32%+) + 7.65% socsecmedicare). Plus NY state income tax, typically in the 6% bracket, plus NY city income tax 3-point-something%. Total 40% or more income tax? There's also that new stuff being taxed, paid family leave and maybe something else. Plus sales taxes, restaurant meal taxes, etc. if you try to enjoy what's leftover. Outrageous real estate taxes if you buy your own place in this housing market bubble. Plus the "congestion tax" if you cross that line on your way to work. Oh but mass transit will be free, that should be a ride to remember.
The takeaway: Everybody's going nuts. Mamdani of course but also half of MAGA. One economic shock or one more war away from Speaker Jeffries in January 2027. And if not, would 240 Republicans in the House be any better than the 220 Republicans we have now?

Mamdani will be far worse than de blah blah blasio. That's the democratic party plan.
"Worse is better" should be their campaign slogan.
