JETS DOWN AGAIN AT HALFTIME TO 41 YEAR OLD QUARTERBACK JOE FLACCO AND THE CINCY BENGALS,24-13

GRA:At halftime, cbs' sideline reporter asked Joe Namath about going in to start the second half.

"Well,we're closer than usual."

About the battle of elder "Joe's" in the 2nd half--Flacco(41 years old)vs Namath(82).

"That young guy has a chance to be a good quarterback in 40 years."

Josh Fields is NOT a good quarterback, though his numbers are decent today.

(fantasy football)HALFBACK OPTION PLAY WINS IT FOR THE JETS TODAY,39-38--NAMATH DOES IT AGAIN

(GRA)Joe Namath replaced Justin Fields at halftime and led the team to another comeback victory, this time over a team that scored 38 points themselves--the Cincinnati Bengals. The Jets won,39-38.

Their running game exploded with Breece Hall rushing for 133 yards and two TDs and throwing the game-winner on a halfback option to rookie tight end Mason Taylor with 1:54 remaining.

The Jets ended their dubious TD-less streak when Fields connected with Tyler Johnson for a 15-yard scoring pass on fourth-and-2 with 5:18 remaining in the first half. That cut the Cincinnati lead at the time to 17-10.

At the half, the Bengals led 24-13 and Aaron Glenn inserted Namath in,for his earliest appearance of the season.

"Broadway Joe" finished 19 for 25 for 260 yards.

But it was Hall's pass, late in the game that provided the winning margin.

In real life, the Jets DID pull out an unlikely win--their first of the season.

They were due--it's as simple as that.
