How did Toronto even make it into the WSOM? Only 33 murders so far in all of 2025. https://homicidecanada.com/toronto-ontario-2025-homicide-victim-list/
The two teams are in the regular series. Rare to have such a city with low homicide totals.

THIRD STRAIGHT LOS ANGELES VICTORY--A 1-O SHUTOUT IN THE WORLD SERIES OF MURDER,AS DEPUTY IS SHOT DEAD BY A SPIC--TO TAKE AN INSURMOUNTABLE 3-0 LEAD.
(cbs/Los Angeles)The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department identified the suspect alleged to have shot and killed a deputy on Monday before leading law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit.
Authorities on Tuesday identified the suspect as 47-year-old Angelo Jose Saldivar. The San Bernardino resident was hospitalized in stable condition on Monday after crashing on the 210 Freeway as a result of a "legal intervention" performed by an off-duty deputy, according to Sheriff Shannon Dicus.
(GRA:Reminds me of "Monty Python and the Life of Brian",for some reason.)
Charges are yet to be announced by the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office, although DA Jason Anderson said Monday evening that he's looking at the case as murder of a peace officer. Additional charges could be brought forth before an arraignment hearing as investigations continue.
Dicus said details will be released shortly about the alleged domestic violence incident that Saldivar was possibly involved in shortly before the fatal shooting. The DA's office confirmed with CBS LA that Saldivar does not have a previous criminal history.
GRA:San Bernardino is quoted on search results as "being part of the Greater Los Angeles area". I also include Ottawa with Toronto.
