The good news: chinks reverse aging in monkeys with super stem cells
GRA: The bad news: side effects include getting covid and turbo clots (kidding, but maybe not).
"(zh) 'super stem cells' boosted memory in monkeys and offered protection against neurodegeneration.
"they halted age-related bone loss and restored vitality in more than half of the 61 tissues examined.
"the therapy also cut back harmful inflammation and reduced the burden of senescent cells — the aged, non-dividing cells that drive aging throughout the body.
"in a discovery that may have profound impacts on aging, scientists in beijing [peking] have taken a dramatic step toward what once seemed impossible: making old animals biologically young again. the study was published last month in the journal cell.
"by fortifying human stem cells with a gene long linked to longevity, they rejuvenated aged monkeys - improving memory, protecting bones, calming inflammation, and restoring youthful activity across dozens of organs.
"the work, while still in animals, is among the most compelling demonstrations yet that aging in primates might be reversible."
GRA: If that's true, why--in the 23rd century, where you would think this was already perfected--did Kirk, Spock, Scotty, Uhura, Chekov and Sulu all get older and in half the cases, kick the bucket? Rhetorical question.

N.S.: For glibertarians like the gang at zh, this is all about abortion. "Super stem cells," i.e., from slaughtered, unborn babies.

"Shock Outcome:" Japan Hardline Conservative Takaichi Elected Party Leader, Set To Become First Female Prime Minister
Saturday, Oct 04, 2025 - 09:22 PM
(ZH)Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) elected former Economic Security Minister Sanae Takaichi as its new leader, positioning her to become the country’s next prime minister in a parliamentary confirmation vote expected in mid-October.
Takaichi, 64, a staunch conservative and vocal China hawk, defeated her moderate rival Shinjiro Koizumi by 185 votes to 156 in a runoff at LDP headquarters in Tokyo. The victory makes her Japan’s first female party president and, almost certainly, its first female prime minister since the LDP remains the largest bloc in parliament and opposition parties are too fragmented to mount a united challenge.
GRA:Don't Japs vote anymore?I mean the populace. This is akin to the democrats,in our country, choosing their "most conservative" member(John Fetterman) to replace Trump without a general vote.
Second, why did "the patriarchal powers that be" put a woman in? Where did all the conservative men disappear to? This too,is similar to the U.S.,in that in increasing parts of our country,OUR "powers that be"(party big shots) do not allow White men to RUN for office anymore. All you see are White women, black women and black/mex men.
So the question is,WHY did Japan install this female to run the country? Yes,the LDP is liberal and maybe, regardless of political philosophy, they wanted a woman installed to break the "glass ceiling" in Japan.
Sum ting tells me she "won't last a long time"(a year).
