Social security recipients to get 2.8% cola increase in 2026

GRA: The shut-down government announced a 2.8% increase in social security payments, beginning in january, or about $56 a month, to the average recipient.

GRA: Milk, ground beef, potatoes, four TV dinners and 10 gallons of gas is on Uncle Sam next year--until they raise the prices--and wipe out the cola.

Meager’ 2.8% Social Security boost for 2026 sparks outcry(NY post)

GRA:This past week's CPI showed annual inflation of 3%,but the gov figures it out with another(money saving)method.

(NY post)Senior groups proposed a minimum 3% COLA increase yearly--regardless of CPI--because "seniors have higher costs than everyone else.''

(GRA) And less income to pay those costs.

As I said,by mid next year, the COLA should be wiped out by inflation from insurance, utilities, food etc
