The benefit to building here in texas is dirt cheap electricity powered by cheap, plentiful, domestically sourced natural gas.

caterpillar, headquartered about three miles from my office in suburban las colinas, is booming due to its production of natural gas fired turbines.

And abilene, texas is geologically stable.

This matters very much to data centers.

P.S.: one last item.

texas has some of the largest uranium reserves in the country.   https://www.bing.com/search?FORM=U523DF&PC=U523&q=uranium+reserves+in+Texas

That is why nuclear power is the next thing to boom here.  https://www.bing.com/search?FORM=U523DF&PC=U523&q=proposed+nuclear+power+plants+in+Texas

Cheap electricity generated by nuclear power plants can also be used to desalinate brackish water from texas aquifers.

You can't stop progress, but you also can't stop insanity. That's the battle in the future.
