bay state bad boys update: team diversity ties the score at 2-2
1) A western massachusetts aide to gov. not Maura but Gomorrah Healey faces charges of cocaine trafficking after 8 kilos of the drug were delivered to him at the state building on Dwight street on saturday, officials say. LaMar Cook, 45, deputy director for the governor’s regional office in springfield, will be arraigned wednesday. (that's all they said for now, found here with a photo of LaMar's smug smirk way back when he thought he had a lifetime pass). EIGHT KILOS!
2) boston police commissioner Michael Cox lied long ago, and thought he got away with it (Karen Read having been found not guilty a long time ago) but her defense attorney nailed him on it this week. Turtleboy has details.
Multiple crooked cop casualties from the Read case, including the lead state police (White) detective fired, who recently abandoned his appeal for reinstatement when it turned out that he was an amateur compared to Hillary Clinton, when it came to covering up one's trail of messages. The union bailed on him. Nope, sorry buddy, this is too much even for us, we can't support this appeal any more.

A good way to make a White cop crooked:surround him with blackies. Either he plays the game or becomes centerfold for "Friendly Fire Illustrated" magazine.

Actually, surprisingly, no black cops in the Read case. It's an all-white comedy of errors and corruption and cover-ups, perps, cops, ex-cops, DA, townspeople, judge. Going to be interesting to see if Hollywood leaves it all-white. They should make two movies out of it, one drama and one comedy. Cast it right and you have sequels for years to come.
The black Commish in Boston is a fringe character. It was a cop on his force who died drunk in a snowbank after questionable circumstances in a suburb and the game was to blame it on Read (his girlfriend) and not the townies on whose lawn he was found.
The Boston comissioners had a lowly rookie white female cop, Kelly Dever, on his force who had been ar dispatcher in Canton, where the whole mess happened. TB points out "there’s not possible way that he randomly invited a rookie cop up to his officer for a pep talk". She's already on the Liars' List (caught giving inconsistent testimony which she claimed was due to "false memory", and she's since resigned from the Boston force) and now Read's attorney is trying to put the Commissioner on the Liars' List too because he lied about her meeting with him.
There another state cop (who supervised the now-fired detective) whose 3rd language is English. Post-trial he got shuffled out to another location (Carr headline: Sgt. Bukhenik sent to Siberia of the State Police) and there's speculation he might get reassigned to a more remote western Mass. job.
LOL TB headline: "Bukhenik Charges Woman With Witness Intimidation And Littering For Dropping Miniature Plastic Duck On Public Bench Outside Chris Albert’s Pizza Shop"
Carr:
Under oath, the Ukrainian drifter admitted that English is not his second, but his third language. Bukhenik hails from the old Soviet Union, lived there until the age of 9. Apparently his assimilation into civilized society has been somewhat less than complete....
The reformed Red made this confession Friday morning [on the witness stand]. In his customary pidgin English, he had been telling defense attorney Alan Jackson about his “theories” of the Read persecution, er prosecution.
Bukhenik had mentioned his “theories” at least twice, so Jackson didn’t think it was a stretch to ask Bukhenik a simple question:
“You know what the word ‘theory’ means?”
To which Yuriy replied:
“I’m sorry, English is like a third language for me. So if you can bring up the Webster’s dictionary I can read it out.”
Jackson did a double take.
“You want me to pull up the Webster’s dictionary to define a word you used in an answer about 40 seconds ago? ‘We were working off a theory.’ Quote unquote. You said it, not me!”
Scriptwriter's gold there. Just take the dialogue verbatim and 3, 2, 1, action!
