The only negative is that this is a colorized version. I believe that this series was never broadcast in color. I saw this episode a few years ago, in the original black & white.
The Naked City initially ran during the 1958-1959 season on ABC, and starred James Franciscus, John McIntire, and Harry Bellaver. ABC cancelled it, but a lobbying campaign by the producers and its cigarette company sponsor persuaded ABC to bring it back in 1960-1961 season, in a 60-minute format. The show was unique at the time, in that like the eponymous movie it was based on, it was shot in the streets of New York City. It was considered to be brilliantly written, shot, acted, and directed. The city was its secret star. This episode was written by Stirling Silliphant and directed by Jerry Hopper.
