The hitchhiker’s “luggage” consists of trash bags (part two).
They wear a winter coat when it’s 80 degrees out.

Old friend of mine - sadly died, two years ago, natural causes - was in hot pursuit of a woman despite the kindest warnings of his friends and adult children. Where did you find her, anyway? On a Christian dating site, he said.
Eventually he convinced her to marry him (his 3rd marriage, her 1st or 2nd).
I was convinced for a long time that someday news would come that his body was found somewhere by a roadside in the north woods.
The marriage lasted but a few months. The divorce was entirely her doing, with little or now lawyer services involved. There was also an abortion in there somewhere, also entirely her choice.
