police said Castillo stopped in the neighborhood on glenhaven drive, exited the vehicle and pulled out a handgun. according to police, the suspect fired multiple shots at officers. the two officers got out of their vehicle and returned fire, police said.

Garland police said "detectives are still trying to determine why Castillo fired upon officers." Detectives have learned that Castillo had a bond forfeiture warrant for indecency with a child, Garland police said.
