John Johnson: “My favorite Kubrick movie is The Killing.”The Killing (1956) was a Sterling Hayden movie,* starring Hayden, which was a ripoff of a previous Sterling Hayden picture (also starring Hayden), the John Huston masterpiece, The Asphalt Jungle (1950).
Stanley Kubrick was devoid of humanity. Thus, he had to borrow humanity, whether from Hayden, Kirk Douglas, Dalton Trumbo, Jim Thompson, or Peter Sellers.
(*Sterling Hayden pictures are also known as “heist movies,” but are always better when they star the real McCoy.)

Rip-off it may be, but "The Killing" is by far the superior movie! For me, the most memorable thing in "Asphalt" is the line, "What is crime, but a left-handed form of endeavor?" As if to say, "Right or wrong, what's the big deal?" The line could be the work of the amoral writer-director Huston, or the Communist screenwriter Maddow.

Critics say this is just for show and the problem still remains largely ignored by the government. I have to agree, the population of India is over 1 billion with a many different cultures and ethnicities that have practiced child bride marriage since time immemorial, this is a drop in the bucket so without a radical cultural and economic shift the practice will continue. Not only that, with a similar wink wink nod nod business as usual attitude toward female infanticide and gender based abortions allowing gender ratios to be skewed in favor of males, younger and younger girls will be targeted by men desperate for wives.
I spotted an article somewhere that India has corrected the gender imbalance problem but I suspect it is government propaganda, other sources suggest that attitudes haven't changed that much in India:

If India keeps this up maybe even more of these men will realize that in White countries that don't murder babies based on their gender and have legal systems that protect non White child rapists, migrating to the West to form rape gangs is actually more lucrative and safer. I'm sure the likes of Biden, Kamala and the EU will welcome them with open arms.
