The Undersheriff for Skamania County, Pat Bond, reported that Cantwell was taken into custody without [sic] incident following a brief standoff at the Viewpoint Apartments.”
N.S.: The [sic] was for the missing word, “arrest.” “Standoff” means that there was an incident.

Corrections Officer Rhonda Russell shot and killed by friendly fire inside court facility -- She was fighting with an inmate for control of her weapon
From the article:
Authorities said a police officer who was in the building opened fire on the inmate to stop him from harming Russell. Tragically, the corrections officer was struck by gunfire.

State police said the inmate was being charged with criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide, kidnapping and related charges.
Women should not be beat/patrol cops or jailers around male inmates -- especially violent, criminal male inmates with little to lose.
