Police said the man's vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed with the headlights off when he suddenly tried to change lanes.
This caused the vehicle to strike a metal barrier that separates the main lanes from the exit lanes.
Authorities said the impact made the vehicle go up in flames.

So he wasn't driving too fast, the vehicle was going too fast all by itself -- his family should sue the manufacturer.

A lane change should be done only after appropriate sober deliberation -- they should start teaching that in driving school.
In an earlier era they would have said he lost control because he was driving too fast (probably while intoxicated).
But this isn't an earlier era.
