N.S.: My theory is that, contra "social scientists" like William Julius Wilson, the "Rust Belt" only became "rusty" when black supremacists made work disappear, by burning down America's great industrial cities, taking over, and handcuffing the police.

Detroit 1967. Whitey had been leaving Dee prior to 1967 but the process just became markedly increased after 1967.
